About

Experienced. Specialized. Arizona-Focused.

What is AZCharterLaw?

AZCharterLaw is a legal practice built around the needs of Arizona charter schools.

We advise school leaders and boards on governance, compliance, employment, contracts, student matters, and the legal decisions that shape day-to-day operations and long-term success.

Our focus is not simply solving problems after they arise. It is building an ongoing counsel relationship that helps charter leaders make sound decisions, strengthen their institutions, and move forward with confidence.

Jason Romero

Founding Partner · AZCharterLaw

Jason Romero is a founding partner of St. John & Romero, PLLC and the attorney behind AZCharterLaw’s charter-school practice.

He advises Arizona charter schools on governance, compliance, employment, contracts, student matters, board issues, and the legal decisions that shape school operations. His approach is practical and relationship-driven: helping school leaders understand risk, make sound decisions, and address legal issues before they become larger problems.

Jason also brings substantial litigation experience to his counseling work. That perspective helps him advise charter schools not only on what the law requires, but on how decisions, policies, documentation, and governance practices are likely to hold up when challenged.

Through AZCharterLaw, he works with charter leaders and boards to build stronger systems, improve decision-making, and create a counsel relationship that supports the institution over time.
